Mr. Jay Kamlesh Rathod – The Mastermind
Meet Mr. Jay Kamlesh Rathod, the visionary Founder & CEO of Rathod Films Private Limited.
Born and brought up in a middle-class family, Mr. Rathod's passion for storytelling was deeply influenced by his grandfather, Late Mr. Laxmichand C. Rathod, a renowned stage and theatrical artist active during the 1980s and 1990s. His grandfather's powerful storytelling ignited a spark in young Jay, planting the dream of becoming a filmmaker.
Despite financial responsibilities leading him to begin his career in the finance industry, his heart remained firmly rooted in cinema. Encouraged by his wife Mrs. Khushali Rathod, he took the courageous step of following his true calling and transitioned into the film industry.
Over the last decade, Mr. Rathod has worked across multiple roles — Spot Assistant, Production Manager, Executive Producer, Head of Production, Writer, Director, and Producer — gaining comprehensive industry insight and hands-on experience. He has received multiple awards for Best Director and Best Short Films, earning recognition for his impactful short-form content.
Mr. Rathod established Rathod Films Private Limited on 13/12/2022 with a vision to produce cinema based on Indian culture. Recently, he directed the Marathi feature film Vaajav Re, which saw a successful theatrical release across Maharashtra and later premiered on the reputed OTT platform Ultra Jhakas on 29th November 2025, marking a significant milestone in his and the company's journey as a new-generation filmmaker.
As the Director of Rathod Films, Mr. Rathod leads the company's creative vision, strategic growth, and operational excellence, consistently pushing boundaries in contemporary Indian cinema.
